Jr. High | Washington, D.C. Trip
Last week, a group of our 7th and 8th grade students traveled to Washington, D.C. for a Christ-centered, educational experience in our nation’s capital. With the help of American Christian Tours(ACTS), we explored iconic monuments, memorials, and national museums that brought history to life. We each gained a deeper gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy.
As we walked through art galleries, across the National Mall, around the Washington Monument and Mount Vernon, and through the Holocaust Museum, we were continually reminded of the weight of our nation’s past and the gift of living in a country found on Christian principals and being able to worship freely.
One of the most moving moments came during our visit to Arlington National Cemetery, where four of our students were given thehonor of laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Thisceremony left a lasting impression on everyone in our group.
Each evening, we gathered for devotionals, either as a whole group or in smaller circles, creating space to process what we had seen and learned. As we walked through heavy moments of history—stories of loss, sacrifice, and injustice—we found our hope continually pointing back to Jesus. In Him, we are reminded of the greater story of redemption and the call to live lives of purpose, service, and faith.
