Music PROGRAM
At Christ Academy, we provide students with a deeper level of exploration and creative development through music, reflecting God as the ultimate Creator of all things good and beautiful.
Ec3-4th Grade Music Education
Our Early Education Music encourages creating, singing, participating and responding. Students engage in developmentally appropriate activities that foster their level of ability.
Lower School Music engages students with a wide range of activities including singing, instrument work, composer studies, music literacy, listening, folk dances, and hands-on learning. This provides a foundation for future musicianship, giving students a foundation for a lifelong enjoyment of music.
Students participate in a Christmas and spring concert to showcase their work, as well as performing at special events, including GrandFriends’ Day. These years provide a strong foundation for students to continue music in 5th/6th Grade Choir and our Upper School Theatre program.
5th/6th Grade Choir
Middle School Choir fosters a love for music and using their singing voices as our primary, God-given instrument. Students are encouraged to understand choir as a team sport, where everyone holds an important role in helping to create a beautiful sound. Students have an opportunity to perform in winter and spring concerts, GrandFriends Day, Veteran’s Day, and other special events.
7th-12th Grade Upper School Theatre
This course focuses on choir and vocal performance, culminating in a spring musical theatre performance. This program gives our Upper School students the chance to explore their voices, creativity, and stage presence in a collaborative and inspiring environment.
