Mr. Callaway's Retirement Party

happy trails, mr. callaway!

This week, we celebrated the long and impactful career of our beloved Tim Callaway. After 48 years of faithfully serving the Lord through education—as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and most recently as our Director of Facilities and Safety—Mr. Callaway has officially retired.

Current and former students, faculty, staff, and families gathered for an ice cream social in his honor. It was a joy to recognize him and his years of service to our Christ Academy community. As a special gift, he received a new pair of cowboy boots—perfect for his performances with one of his local bands!

Mr. Callaway is truly a treasure, and he will be deeply missed. If we’re lucky, maybe we can convince him to make a few special appearances on campus next year!

More about mr. Callaway

For the past 15 years, Mr. Callaway has served the Christ Academy community with grace, humility, and deep dedication. Prior to joining CA, he spent 33 years in public education—17 of those as a principal—where he taught, led, and shaped the lives of countless students and educators. His rich experience and heart for people have made a lasting impact at Christ Academy, where he has most recently served as Director of Facilities and Safety.

A proud North Texas native, Mr. Callaway is a graduate of both North Texas State University and Midwestern State University. Alongside his wife, Kathy, he has raised three children and now enjoys the blessings of five grandchildren. The Callaways are long-time members of Grace Church, and when Tim isn’t solving problems on campus or encouraging those around him, you might find him strumming a guitar in one of his bands (award-winning Prairie Moon and Gray Matters)—playing everything from classic rock to cowboy country—or helping lead worship at church.

What makes Tim Callaway truly remarkable goes far beyond his professional accomplishments. He leads by serving. He listens with care, gives generously of his time and energy, and lives out his faith in ways that quietly but powerfully point others toward Christ.

Though his daily presence on campus will be missed, Mr. Callaway leaves behind a legacy marked by faithful, diligent service. His retirement marks the beginning of a well-earned new chapter, and the Christ Academy family celebrates all the ways God has used him—and will continue to use him—in the lives of others.
