New Arts Programming at Christ Academy: Choir, Musical Theater & Ceramics

At Christ Academy, we believe the arts are not an add-on. They are an essential part of forming the whole student. This fall, we are expanding our Upper School arts offerings in two meaningful ways, and we could not be more excited to share what is coming.

Choir & Musical Theater — Grades 7–12

For years, families have asked about choir and musical theater opportunities at the Upper School level. This fall, we are thrilled to answer that with a dedicated 7th–12th grade Choir and Musical Theater course.

The year is structured intentionally across two semesters. In the fall, students will focus on choir and vocal performance, developing their voices, learning to listen well, and discovering the discipline and joy of making music together. In the spring, the class shifts into musical theater, with students working toward a full production. The show itself is still to be announced, but the excitement is already building.

This program gives our Upper School students something rare: a dedicated space to be creative, take risks, use their God-given gifts, and collaborate with their peers toward something beautiful. Whether a student has sung their whole life or has never set foot on a stage, this course is designed to welcome and challenge them in equal measure.

High School Ceramics — A New Creative Frontier

Our fine arts program is also growing with the addition of a High School ceramics class, made possible by the generous gift of a patron of the arts who believed in expanding what CA students could make and do.

With a new kiln coming to campus, students will have the opportunity to work with clay, both functional and sculptural, learning technique, patience, and creative problem-solving through a medium that is entirely hands-on. We believe this addition will open a new door for students who are drawn to the visual arts.

Mrs. Deges, who continues to lead and elevate our Fine Arts Department with excellence and care, will bring her signature warmth and high expectations to this new offering. She has a gift for drawing out the best in her students, and ceramics will be no different.

The Right Time for Something New

Both of these programs reflect something we have seen again and again at CA: when we remain faithful and keep asking how we can serve our students better, the Lord provides the people, the resources, and the opportunities. We are grateful, and we cannot wait to see what our students create.

Enrollment and scheduling questions for either program can be directed to our main office. We hope to see your student in the studio or on the stage this fall.
