Introducing Exciting New Opportunities at CA
At Christ Academy, we are always seeking ways to provide meaningful, Christ-centered experiences that help our students grow academically, creatively, and spiritually. Next school year, we are thrilled to roll out several new programs that reflect our commitment to excellence and the unique gifts of our students. From expanding the arts to offering advanced academic opportunities, these additions are designed to inspire, challenge, and equip our students for success both in school and beyond.
Upper School Choir & Musical Theater (Grades 7–12)
Next school year, we are thrilled to introduce a 7th–12th grade Choir and Musical Theater program! This course will be divided into two semesters: the first semester will focus on choir and vocal performance, while the second semester will highlight musical theater, culminating in a to-be-announced show. This much-anticipated program gives our Upper School students the chance to explore their voices, creativity, and stage presence in a collaborative and inspiring environment.
Fine Arts Expansion: High School Ceramics Class
Our fine arts program continues to grow with the addition of a ceramics class! Thanks to the generosity of a patron of the arts, CA will acquire a new kiln, opening opportunities for students to create both functional and sculptural ceramic works. Mrs. Deges continues to advance our Fine Arts Department, and with this addition, students will experience even more hands-on, creative learning in a thriving, supportive environment.
Expanding AP & Dual-Credit Opportunities
While we have long encouraged students to take dual-credit courses, our guidance counselor, Mrs. Gunter, has been working closely with colleges and tracking trends in admissions. We’ve seen an increase in some colleges seeking students who challenge themselves with Advanced Placement (AP) courses. In response, Mr. Starling will serve as our AP advisor. He will support students enrolled in various AP courses through Sevenstar as they prepare for AP exams in the spring.
AP Capstone Progam
CA will also be the first campus in Wichita Falls to offer the AP Capstone program, under the guidance of Mr. Starling. This prestigious program allows students to earn the AP Capstone Diploma™, a distinction highly regarded by top-tier colleges, that demonstrates college-level research, analysis, and academic skills. Our students will gain an exceptional advantage as they prepare for college and beyond.
While we carefully considered each new program this year, it has been evident that the Lord provides the right people and opportunities at the perfect time. We can’t wait for our students to experience these exciting new offerings at CA!
