Christ Academy’s New Student Support Programs for 2026-2027

At Christ Academy, we are committed to supporting the whole learner - academically, emotionally, and spiritually. Over the past several years, we have identified an increasing need for expanded Student Support Team (SST) services across our campus. As enrollment grows and student needs become more diverse, we believe the Lord is calling us to strengthen our ability to serve more students well.

While Christ Academy is not launching a full special education (SPED) program, we are making steps to thoughtfully increase the support available to our families while remaining aligned with our mission and model.

Beginning in Fall 2026, Christ Academy will expand its Student Support Programs with additional services designed to identify educational needs early and provide targeted, academic support.

on-site evaluations

Once a need is identified through the SST process, Christ Academy will now offer on-site evaluation services, available for an additional fee, to help families better understand a student’s areas of strength and need and to determine eligibility for academic support services.

Linden Inman, Christ Academy’s school psychologist will guide families through the evaluation process, ensuring parents understand all available, so they can make informed decisions that best serve their student and family.

Following evaluations, families will receive clear explanations of results along with transparent next steps and support options.

Strengthening Our Student Support Team

As part of our expansion, Ashley Duke, a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and our beloved second-grade teacher will transition into a new specialized role within our Student Support Team. While she will be stepping out of the classroom, she will remain a vital part of our school community. In addition to mentoring and supporting the new teachers who step into the second-grade positions, she will lead Christ Academy’s dyslexia therapy programs and provide direct, structured reading intervention for students through the Learning Lab.

Her expertise and leadership allow us to expand services while maintaining the excellence and care our families value.

Student Support Program Offerings

  • Beginning in Fall 2026, Christ Academy will offer structured dyslexia therapy using both Take Flight and Jet Take Flight, research-based, multisensory intervention programs designed to support students with dyslexia.

Christ Academy offers two structured, research-based dyslexia therapy programs led by a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT): Take Flight and Jet Take Flight. Both programs are provided during the school day, meet four hours per week, and are available for an additional fee through the Student Support Team (SST) placement process.

Take Flight is designed for students who need foundational reading intervention, providing systematic, multisensory instruction in word recognition, spelling, fluency, and comprehension to build long-term reading success.

Jet Take Flight is designed for students ages 14 and older and offers an accelerated, targeted approach tailored to secondary learners who need intensive reading support.

Both programs include measurable growth goals and regular progress monitoring to ensure students are making meaningful gains.

  • Christ Academy’s Learning Lab is designed to encourage and support students needing additional assistance toexperience academic success and meet grade level expectations.

Students who have been identified as needing additional support for reading, math, and/or writing may be eligible for services. Learning Lab services are offered for an additional fee.

A Mission-Driven Commitment

This expansion reflects Christ Academy’s desire to meet the growing needs within our community without compromising who we are. While we are not a comprehensive SPED program, we are intentionally building structured systems that allow us to serve more students with excellence, clarity, and compassion.

We are thankful for the ways the Lord continues to open doors for Christ Academy to strengthen both our instructional practices and our support services. It is our prayer that these expanded offerings will equip students not only for academic success, but for lives rooted in confidence, perseverance, and faith.
