Summer Reading Challenge 2025
Dear Lower School Students,
Summer is a great time to have fun with friends and go on adventures. One way you can go on a summer adventure without even leaving your house is by reading!
This summer, I want to challenge you to read regularly to keep your mind sharp. Attached is a Summer Reading Challenge card – your teacher also gave you a copy to take home in your folder. Each place on the card requires you to read for 20 minutes while you also do something else. You can only mark one spot a day, so you’ll have to read regularly to fill in the card!
On Friday, July 26th, we will have an Ice Cream Sundae Party at 1:00pm for all students who complete the Summer Reading Challenge card.
You might be asking – what should I read?
The Wichita Falls Public Library is a great place to find a variety of books to read. I encourage you to check out books at the library this summer. If you do not have a library card, make sure to get one this summer – all students who can show me their library card will receive an additional special treat at our party on July 26th. 😊
If you’re not sure what books to start reading, check out these book recommendations from our teachers. These recommendations are for the grade level completed in May 2024:
