Library & Media Center
Emily Adams, Christ Academy Librarian, works very hard to empower students to become skillful consumers and producers of information, ideas and inovations through literacy.
This year Mrs. Adams has worked very hard to inspire students to read and write by brining in guest authors.
October 2011, award-winning children's author Darleen Bailey Beard visited the Christ Academy Library and Media Center to present her passion to students. (see full article in Times Record News: http://www.timesrecordnews.com/news/2011/oct/07/author-shows-youths-the-power-of-the-pen/ ) Mrs. Beard held a writing workshop for the 6th, 7th and 8th grade students where she challenged Christ Academy students to begin writing.

Jenohn Euland, pictured left, said she enjoyed the one-hour workshop. "I liked how we got to express and write about odd things -- things you wouldn't usually write about."
Bear is best known fro her six children's books, many of them award-winners: "Operation Clean Sweep", "The Flimflam Man", "Twister", "The Babbs Switch Story", "Annie Glover is Not a Tree Lover" and "The Pumpliin Man from Piney Creek."

In November 2011, Angela Millard visited Christ Academy and presented copies of her new book to the school! (to see photo visit the Times Record News: http://www.timesrecordnews.com/photos/2011/nov/27/62374/ )
In January 2012, Jane Spears will be at the Christ Academy Library and Media Center to visit and talk about her recently published book entitled, "Going to Tea...Princess Kitty and Me". All proceeds from any book sales will be sent to our sister school, Christ Academy Kenya. Students, 3K through 8th grade, will receive a special invitation to bring their families back that evening at 6:30 p.m. for a special "Tea Time" with the Queen!

All Christ Academy students, 3K (3 years old) through 5th grade visit the library once a week. Jr. High and High School students are able to visit the library at any time during the week. Mrs. Adams instructs students in library class on the methods and skills used to improve their reading and research skills.
